2008 Summary

Here are some thoughts on Shufflepalooza 2008.

Thanks:

to the girl who brought bacon wrapped sausage
not that I think any more needs to be said about this, but wow, wow.
to the girls who brought the cherry chocolate cheesecake
to the girl who brought dice, and everyone who helped pick them up
to everyone who helped pick our apples
to the girl who brought the ps2
to the guy who started the paper game when there were people too cold to play shuffleboard
to the people who toughed it out, and showed their dedication,
by playing, even when the snow started falling.
to the girl in the hat: it was cool.
to the Couple who brought fireball island
to the girl who brought chips and salsa
especially the salsa with out cilantro
to the girl who brought Hummus and crackers
to the girl who brought cookies (both kinds, were good, but I'm a sucker for the chocolate chip)
to the intentionally curly hair girl,
to the guys who came, you may have been outnumbered,
but you represented us men well
to everyone who sang karaoke,
to everyone who danced
to the girl who invited two people... who actually showed up... awesome
to everyone who came with a friend
to everyone who met a new friend
everyone, because noone wore flip flops
Anyone who brought a jacket
hot chocolate guy oh wait that's me
to the guy who made Homemade bread
to everyone who played
to everyone cheered and encouraged

to everyone who came thanks so much
It was indeed an awesome party.

Weather Forecast

So the weather people are saying it's going to be a cold one.
  • I would advise against flip-flops or sandals
  • A coat would probably be a good idea
  • If you want gloves, bring those too
  • Hot chocolate will be served
  • Party may move inside if circumstances so demand
  • Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun
  • seriously
  • Blankets/ sweaters/ jackets and other items also good.
  • more to come

What is Shuffleboard?

What is Shuffleboad?
Well to put it bluntly, it's Awesome!
Two teams compete against each other to score the most points.
land in side the lines and you get the number of points shown...
unless someone knocks them out.

But don't touch the lines, no points for that.

It's not just for old people and cruise ships any more.

It's crazy good fun, and it's here.
so come see, come play, come eat, come be.
believe me, it's incredible.

The 2007 Announcement

2006 (unofficial Announcement)

Friday, April 14, 2006
You're Invited
Yes the time has come for another great party.
And being the great guy that I am, I have decided to invite each and every one of you (this is your invitation). This particular party will be shuffleboard based. (if you are laughing, read on, if not, read on)
I guessing most people know that I have a shuffleboard court, but I suppose there may be a few that do not yet know it. Yes I have one, and we're having a party and there will be shuffleboard.

SO without further ado, I present the first great ShuffleBoard party of the year (at least that I'm going to)

o April 22
o 2:20 ish (Afternoon)
o Tzatziki, Tzatziki, Tzatziki
o No not three batches.
o Bring food
o If you want
o It would be heartily welcomed
o Yes old people play Shuffleboard
o Saturday
o We play it too!
o April showers bring may flowers
o (bring a coat if it's raining)
o Trust me it good.
o length... TBD
o random people are more than welcome to attend
o no foreseeable celebrity appearances
o Announcers? yes I believe so.
o Scorers table... most likely
o Shuffleboard lessons
o as desired
o left over ham?
o Maybe
o Yes I'll even let you be on my team
o If you want
o No I'm not really that arrogant
o But I do have more practice than most.
o Twenty plus years
o Music?
o Yes of course
o Dancing?
o I take no responsibility for such things
o party size: probably small ish... but more than a handful
o cops?
o none invited yet
o FREE
o no strings, no contracts
o kites? perhaps
o Wind? I'd faint if there isn't
o address
o 3's 1' 0's
o Utah
o (it's a grid)
o Dress? Modest/ casual
o OR whatever
o (still modest)
o No ones ever died form my cooking
o at least that I know of
o but I won't be cooking mush.
o much not mush
o probably just simple stuff
o Not very likely on greek desserts
o ( I don't think I have that much money)
o RSVP are nice
o (but I care more that I know, that you know you are invited)
o It won't change much if you do or don't RSVP
o Of Course we will be sad for anyone not in attendance
o Of course it's still going to be a party for those that are
o barring any terribly unforseen occurances
o like terrorist attacts
o and earthquakes
o Many people really like shuffleboard
o Really!
o Also played in retirement communities
o Oh and on cruise ships
o (it's different on a cruise ship)
o (but still fun, if that was your experience)
o Many people are invited to this party that came to the last one
o and the one before
o For singles
o And other people too!
o Saturday
o Not the one before Easter
o Unless you are Orthodox
o (their's is different)
o Sponsered by my business?
o Sure why not
o What is shuffle board?
o Diagram coming soon
o ish
o If I forgot something, let me know.
